First day of school

School started today. That meant that my older two boys had to get up early and pose for pictures with sleepy eyes. It is so hard for me to believe that summer quickly came and went and now I have a 1st grader and a 4th grader!! The boys were both a little quiet this morning mixed with nerves and excitement, but they did great! No tears from either of them. I cried a few as I drove away from the school though--don't tell. ;) Geez--time is really flying. Check out my big, handsome boys...
Colton Wyatt~ My big 4th grader

Cooper Wiley~ My big 1st grader

We got to walk in with their cousin Graham.

We ran into Cooper's great buddy Bobby in the hallway. They were put into different classes this year. =(  They had a little too much fun in class together last year. =)

They both had a good day! They liked their teachers, loved catching up with old friends and making new ones. It is going to be a fabulous year!! (Once we get used to getting up early again.) ;)

For any of you that started back today also, I hope you all had a wonderful first day too!

Summer is over =(

We have had such a fabulous summer that I wish it could last a few more months. =) I can't believe school starts tomorrow. I am not ready! The break has gone too fast!!
Well, like it or not, my big boys have to be there at 7:45 am. We had meet the teacher night on Thursday and the boys were happy with the teachers they got. We got their supplies all settled and left there with some nerves and excitement. Cooper has been counting down the days since then. He is ready to see his friends and start the fun. We were talking about 1st grade and in the cutest, most excited way Cooper said, "Mama- we get to have our own desks in 1st grade!"  (I had forgotten that in Kinder last year, they sat at big tables.) Love those little things that are so big to him!
Colton is a little more realistic...the 4th grader in him I guess. He is not quite ready to go back. He wants to see his friends and catch up but he told me this tonight. "The first week is pretty fun but then it will just be the same old stuff. Oh but I will get to do more advanced projects in Art so that is good."  He heard from someone that the homework load is large so he is not looking forward to that. Can't blame him there. He is unsure but excited too.
We read my favorite back to school book, The Kissing Hand, at bedtime. Colton and Cooper were cuddled in tight while we read. They both talked about how much they will miss me. I had to fight the tears back. I am sad summer is over but I am also excited for them as they start another fun filled year of learning!!
As we said our prayers thanking God for a great summer and asking for a wonderful school year, I cried. I am going to miss my big boys so much. Carter will miss them too.
I am so thankful that they go to an amazing school with fabulous teachers though!! I am also super thankful that Carter is only three!
My cousin tagged me in a post on Facebook with this prayer. LOVE IT so I had to share!!! I will definitely be praying it.

Sorry that this is a post full of my random ramblings. Gotta get the thoughts down so they can look back with me someday. =)

The park

Another thing we had to squeeze in this summer was a day at the park. We have to spend at least one summer morning riding the train, feeding the ducks and playing on the playground. I love the simplicity of these activities and that my boys look so forward to doing them.

So much fun to spend time strolling the park and watching my boys play!!

When Cody got home that evening, Carter told him the ducks were hungry. Cute, Cute!!

ZDT's

One of the places on the list of things my boys wanted to do this summer was to go to ZDT's They love this place. We were able to get there on Thursday and had lots of fun.
Colton and Cooper  love the Jumpoline. This time Carter was big enough to give it a try. He laughed the whole time. He kept wanting to go higher and higher. It was so cute. Quite the brave boy!

Cooper enjoys this but he chooses not to go too high. =)

Colton was going so high and doing flips. He loved it!!
Colton also climbed the rock wall. He was so close to the top this time!

The boys also enjoyed a couple of rides that have outside. Carter was big enough for the parachute drop and he was determined to do it. But about halfway through he started to cry. Poor guy. Needless to say he didn't ride it again or do the spinning ride. Colton and Cooper rode these two rides over and over again.

SO glad we were able to cross this place off of our summer fun to do list.

Back to Reality

I am home from my girl's getaway and as you can tell from my lack of blogging, I am catching up and trying to enjoy our last week of summer.
It was an amazing trip!!! Even more than I hoped for. We flew out Friday and our flight was nonstop and smooth.

The Westin Diplomat Resort was a fabulous place to stay.We got there and simply walking in was relaxing. Not just because our hubbies had the kiddos but because the Westin's signature smell is so amazing. The scent is called White Tea and it is my new favorite scent! =) We checked in and had a few minutes to wait for our room so we headed to the bar. We had some yummy cocktails and a sushi roll to start our stay off right. ;)

When we got up to our room on the 32nd floor and walked onto the balcony and saw this view...

I actually did a girly squeal because I was so excited!! Just dreamy!!!!
We woke up Saturday morning and headed to the spa. We all got pampered! I got a wonderful Swedish massage and a pedicure. Then we had a yummy lunch outside and then laid out by the pool. Perfect!!!

Actually, Jenni and I left Melissa and Laci at the pool and we went and took a nap. We were determined to get some rest. That evening we headed out to Hard Rock for a great dinner at Bluepoint Ocean Grill and some dancing. We had so much fun!

Oh and look who walked into the club we were at... Dennis Rodman. He started singing with the band and dancing. Weird!

This picture of Laci and I cracks me up.

The next day we lounged by the pool and relaxed. It was perfect!

That evening we had a great dinner by the water and then we went to our room and watched Bridesmaids. SO fun!

Seriously, the word that I keep using for this trip is AMAZING!! It was just that! The four of us had the best time together! We just kept saying that we couldn't believe that we were actually there and how lucky we are that our hubbies treated us to this getaway.
I hated to leave the beach but I was so glad to get home to my boys! I am one lucky lady!!!
