A Day at the Zoo

Colton has been talking about going to the zoo for a while now. We haven't been there since Cooper was a baby so it was time to go back. Cody was off work on Monday and the weather was nice so we decided to go. We had such a good day! Colton was most interested in seeing the elephants and Cooper wanted to see the monkeys. (Poor guy, really wanted to hold one.) Cody has a family friend that works there and we were lucky enough to get a behind the scenes tour. We even got to pet a Rhino. Very cool!

Deer lease fun

If you know me, you know the deer lease is not really a place I care to hang out. But trying to be a good wife and mother of boys, I took the boys to the deer lease on Saturday to spend the night. Cooper has been wanting to go hunting and has waited patiently for his turn. We got there just in time for the afternoon hunt. Although the boys were like two caged animals in the deer blind, I know Cody loved having us hunt with him. Just when we were about to "release the animals", Cody saw a trash buck he was wanting to shoot to get rid of. Cody knew this would be exciting for them. The boys got very quiet. We all plugged our ears and Cody shot. The buck was down and the boys couldn't wait to go see it. It is so funny how the are just innately not afraid or grossed out by this stuff. They ran right up to it and had to touch it. (I bit my tongue and just let them be "hunters".)
Here is a shot of the boys with the buck and one with their Daddy too.
It was a fun experience for them and I enjoyed myself too. The only bad part was that we woke up Sunday morning to rain. Oh well!

Our Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas! It started at 5:41 am with Colton by our bed. He noticed that Santa had come but since it was still dark we convinced him to lay down for a little while longer. After some dozing, Cooper was up at 7:oo am and said "Santa left me presents." Now we were up. The boys tore into their gifts and loved everything that Santa and Cody and I gave them. Then we sang Happy Bithday to Jesus during our pancake breakfast and it was off to Omi and Opi's house. The boys tore into their gifts and loved everything they were given. After that we came home for lunch and a nap. Later we went to Mammy and Papa's house for dinner and more presents. The boys tore into their gifts and they loved everything they were given there too. Some of their favorites gifts were: John Deere remote control tractor, the Batcave, a John Deere scooter, Bolt toys, a blower, and the Mickey Mouse race track. They got lots of wonderful things and so did Cody and I. We were blessed to get to be with both sides of our family on Christmas day and we had a great day! Now we just have to find room for all of these cool new toys. Here are a few snapshots of Christmas morning.

Merry Christmas!

I cannot believe that it is already Christmas Eve. My boys are going crazy with the excitement that Santa comes tonight. So we will go to church this evening and then come home and have a quiet dinner with a few family members. Then we will leave food for the reindeer and cookies and milk for Santa. Next, it is off to bed so visions of sugarplums can dance in Colton and Cooper's cute little heads. There is just nothing like the magic of this time of year! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Hope Santa is good to each and everyone of you. Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Building a House

Well, the boys and I made a gingerbread house the other night. Let me tell you, it is much harder than it looks. We did have fun and here is our end product.

Party time!

Friday was a day of fun for the boys. They each had their Christmas parties at school. I started off in the morning helping with Colton's party. He got to wear his jammies. They had several stations set up. The kids rotated through making an ornament, reindeer food and a stocking. Then they had cocoa and watched the Grinch. I left there and went to help at Cooper's preschool party. He got to make Muddy Buddy mix and reindeer food. Then they had pizza for lunch and a book exchange. It was a fun day. I was so relieved that the timing worked out and I got to be at both parties. So-now Christmas vacation officially begins. We are all so excited! Cody has the whole week off and we plan to squeeze in some family fun. Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying their school festivities.

This is a picture from Spring in 2007, when their was a lot of bluebonnets around. I wanted to do a picture of me and the boys in the bluebonnets for Cody. This wasn't the best one but it was the picture I found while playing this game of tag. Gosh- my boys have sure grown!
Here are the directions:
1. choose the 4th picture folder on your computer
2. choose the 4th picture
3. explain the picture
4. and tag 4 more people to do the same
*I tag Laura, Misti, Amy, and Shelley.*

Happy Birthday to my Daddy!

Today is my Dad's birthday! If you know me you know I am a Daddy's girl! Always have been, always will be! Yes- I have always had him pretty much wrapped around my finger. Now my kids have him wrapped around theirs too. Very fun! My dad is a wonderful Papa and dad. He would do anything for any of us and makes us feel so loved. We love him very much! Happy Birthday Papa/Daddy!

An Important Call

Last night the boys got a call from Santa Claus.  Colton and Cooper both loved talking to Santa. They talked about what they wanted and their teachers. They sang Jingle Bells together. Santa even mentioned that he had gotten their letters and that he had just seen Colton at school on Tuesday. (They had a Santa visit at Comal.) He went over what they needed to do to get on the tip top of the good list. Both of them need to clean up their messes. Once Santa heard the sleigh bells ring, it meant it was time to go feed his reindeer. Colton says "Wait Santa! Can I tell you one more thing?" Santa of course said sure. Then Colton goes, "Santa, I believe in you. I believe in your elves and your reindeer too!" Priceless!
After we got off of the phone, Colton said he had to go clean his playroom. (we could no longer see the carpet in there) Sure enough, he did a good job and then he sat down to write a note for Santa telling him to go look in the clean playroom. The magic is strong at the Mueller house this year and I love it!!

My Little Artist

Colton is so into drawing these days. He gets home and wants his paper and crayons. If he is watching a show he will ask me to pause it so he can draw the characters. Sometimes he props up one of his toys and uses it as a model for a picture he wants to draw. Then once he is done, he gets some tape and goes to hang it in his "art studio", better known as his room. (He is running out of wall space in there.) I love to watch him in deep concentration when he is hard at work at his new found skill. Here are few pictures of him drawing away one morning and of two of his pieces of artwork...Buzz and Woody.

A successful hunt

As most of you know, my hubby is quite obsessed with hunting. He spends most every weekend from November through early January at the deer lease. Colton has gone a couple of weekends this year and he loves it too. This Saturday Cody shot a deer he has been eyeing. He was really excited and the boys couldn't wait for him to bring it home to show them. We were all proud of Daddy and for me it was a chance to get a great picture of my three boys in camo. =)

Dear Santa

Today the boys wrote their letters to Santa. The process was fun...writing, stuffing and licking the envelope, and then mailing the letter to the North Pole. They are both pretty clear on what they want so that should make Santa's job pretty easy. Yeah right! Cooper wants a Big red tractor and when he says big he means full size. He always describes it with a big steering wheel and he says he will drive it. Yep, Santa is in trouble. The hope is that he will be happy with a red push tractor and trailer that makes lots of cool noises. If not, Santa will try hard to make it up to him next year. Colton wants a long list of things but Transformers and a Batman Bat Cave are at the top. That Santa can pull off. Here are their letters and them sending them.
