Back to School

Summer is over and we are back to school. My big boys started on Tuesday. Can't believe I have a 3rd grader and a 6th grader!!

Cooper started 3rd grade. He was a little nervous at drop off but he did great!

Cooper has an awesome teacher, lots of his close friends in his class and he had a wonderful first day! He is going to do great in 3rd grade!!

Colton started Middle School!! Ahhhhh!! ;) He seemed ready to go that morning and headed in with confidence. No pictures at the school. Now that they are so big, we just drop off. =(

Anyway, unfortunately, he had a rough first day. He got in the car and the tears fell. He said he felt very overwhelmed and was afraid he couldn't meet his goals. When I asked him what his goals are he said, "honor roll and stuff." Poor guy. He puts so much pressure on himself and is such an overachiever. I know he will do great! He just needs to give himself a break. Th rest of the week was a little tough too. The nerves and worry just got the best of him. He even threw up after his first period class on the third day. We figured it was a mix of nerves and his breakfast not settling well. He felt better by lunch and was able to stick out the day. He says he misses us and his old teachers.
He even wrote this when he was asked how he felt about his life situation. His answer was 50/50 and here is why.
It broke my heart!
Thank goodness, he says each day gets a little better. I know it is just a huge transition and he will do great! Right now we do lots of pep talks and prayers!

We made it to Friday! Here are my happy boys headed to have their donuts!

Lots of prayer

Tomorrow school starts. Where has summer gone and why did it go so fast?!?! A new chapter begins in the morning as my older two boys head back into the classroom. Cooper will start 3rd grade. He is so excited! He got the teacher he wanted and has some of his best buddies in his class. Here are a few pictures from Meet the Teacher night.
Cooper and Mrs. Groesbeck

The third grade teachers had a photo booth set up for the kids. So fun!

Littlest brother--Future Bobcat
It will be a big year for Cooper as the transition is challenging from 2nd grade to 3rd grade but I know my boy will do great!

A huge new chapter and transition happens tomorrow for my Colton. He is headed to 6th grade. Middle School...I can't believe it! Honestly, I have dreaded that move for a while now but I can tell my boy is ready. After a lot of tears and prayer, I think I am too. God has worked in my heart and I have a much more positive outlook on this new phase of life. I can see my oldest boy changing right before my eyes. He is really maturing and has a sense of confidence that I have prayed for him to have. He says he is not really nervous, just worried about a heavy homework load. Silly boy! Here is a picture of him in front of the school after Jag camp/orientation.

The little brothers with the Canyon Jaguar

It's gonna be a big change but I  know Colton will do great as a middle schooler!

I will continue to be super prayerful. My boys need it and deserve it! All of our kiddos, their teachers and administrators do. Found this online a while back. Can't remember where but I love it!

So excited for my boys. I know they have a great school year ahead of them!

Dear Lord,
Please protect my boys as they head back to school tomorrow. Guide their teachers as they share lots of new information with their anxious students. Please help my boys to be a light in their school each day and help them to be confident and secure as they go through their day. Help them to be diligent and respectful students and help them to be a good friend so that they will have good friends. Most of all Lord, please let your presence be felt among the hallways of Garden Ridge Elementary and Canyon Middle School! Amen!

Camp

Every summer the boys always have such a great time at TbarM camp and this year was no different.
Nothing better than playing sports, swimming, singing and learning about the Lord all in the same place.

Colton and Graham

Cooper and Carson
Best friends!

Charlie, Cole and Cooper

Best buddies!

Mission Impossible day is always a favorite!

We love Omega day too!! Carter always has to be in on the fun.

Cousins!!! Love all of these boys!

Both of my big boys had great counselors! At the end of the week each child is given a characteristic that they showed throughout the week. Colton and Cooper were in different group, with different couselors and they both were given Contentment. Each of their counselors said that they always had a smile on their face and were happy to do whatever they were supposed to be doing. Sounds good to me! Cody and I were very proud as always!

Omi came to the closing ceremony.

LOVE my family!!!
We LOVE TbarM! The boys look forward to it every year!!
