Carter is here!

Carter Wesley made his way into this world at 6:20 pm on June 25th. He weighed 8 lbs and 11 ozs and 20.75 inches. With his chubby cheeks and copper hair he is precious! I was induced and Pitocin was started at 8:30 am and things were very slow going. It took until 5:00pm to get to 5 cm and I was getting discouraged. But luckily 45 minutes later I was fully dilated and ready to push. After a practice push the nurse said to wait so we could get the doctor back because he had already turned and was ready to come out. I only had to do one really long push and he was here. YAY!!
He is perfect, precious, wonderful and we couldn't be happier. Especially his Big brothers. They are so thrilled with him. They tell me non-stop how cute he is and they love to just talk to him and hold him. He is such a good baby. I have to wake him up to eat already. I am adding a lot of pictures but there are tons more I would love to add. It just takes forever.
I have to say the word that best describes us right now is BLESSED. I am so thankful that Carter is here and healthy. He is exactly who was meant to complete our family!!

We're Ready!

Well, Carter will be here tomorrow!!! I am filled with nerves and excitement. I just can't wait to see him and know that he is healthy. Here are some pictures of his nursery. I really love the colors. It is ready for him to come home to. If you click on the picture, you can see it bigger.

Happy Father's Day!!!

I am so proud of my hubby and the Daddy that he is! He is that Dad that comes home from work and gets straight to playing with his boys. He doesn't even take a minute to change his clothes or sit down. He helps with baths and bedtime without being asked to. He says it is more time he gets with his boys.(It helps me a lot too.) I love that he is teaching our boys what being a godly man is and what being a good husband is too. They have a great role model to pattern after and they love him so much! I do too! We are so lucky to have him!

Cody and I are also so lucky to have two wonderful fathers in our lives. They would bend over backwards to help us. They are wonderful grandfathers as well. My Dad and I have always been close and now he has a close relationship with my boys. He will do anything to make any of us happy or help us out. I rarely heard no as a child from my Dad and my boys don't hear it very often either. Their Papa loves to spoil them rotten!!!

Cody's Dad is awesome as well. He was obviously a great role model for Cody. My boys have a close relationship with their Opi too. He loves to spend time with them and to give them the fun they want. I sure have some AMAZING men in my life! I feel so blessed that our kiddos are growing up with grandparents that love them so much and want to spend time with them whenever they can. Lucky boys!

Swim lessons

The boys just finished two weeks worth of swimming lessons and they both did so well. They really enjoyed swimming with Mrs. Nancy, Mrs. Jessica and Mr. Owen...awesome teachers at NBJ School of Swimming. My boys absolutely love being in the water. Colton has become a very confident and strong swimmer. He was working on his freestyle and backstroke this session. Cooper did great too! This was his first session of real lessons. He was working on his back float and swimming underwater. They both learned so much and now we have the rest of the summer to build on their skills. Here are some pictures of my two little fish!

Update

For anyone who cares. =) I am dilated to 2 cm now and still 70% effaced. All is good. So next Thursday at 6am I will be induced. Only one week until we get to meet our Carter. I cannot wait to see him and hold him and kiss him and hug him!!! I am so curious to see who he looks like. I have to admit my nerves set in when I really start thinking about the whole process...Carter being healthy, being away from the boys, the actual labor, etc. Okay- I will just stop thinking about it for now and say a prayer. That always eases my mind.

Maternity pictures

Today was the day we squeezed in getting our maternity picture taken. We have done this with each pregnancy for me to put in their baby book. It shows just how large and in charge my belly is or maybe just how big Carter is in there. Yea- that sounds better. (I don't do bare belly because mine is just not pretty.) Also, it is the last family picture we take before our family grows. The shots we got turned out decent and I am just glad we got it done. I would have been very upset if Carter would have come before now and we missed our chance. I look forward to the next picture when we have officially become a family of five!!

Tooth Fairy Stop Here!

Colton has had two verrry loose teeth for a couple of weeks now. One was looser than the other and had a permanent tooth pushing against it. The other was loose too but not as pushed. Anyway, this evening he bumped his mouth on our little garage refrigerator and one of the teeth fell out. After the shock wore off, he was so excited! He called his grandparents and asked them if they wanted to come see. Of course they said yes and rushed over and checked out the newly vacant spot on his bottom gums. Later, his Mammy talked him into pulling the other one. He has safely placed his teeth in a glow in the dark tooth capsule for the tooth fairy to pick up tonight on her evening route. Hard to believe my boy is old enough to be losing teeth.
In the picture in the blue shirt, you can see that he has just lost the one tooth. The others show him with both teeth missing and with his tooth capsule.

37 week checkup

I went yesterday for my 37 week checkup. Nothing has changed since last week...still 1.5cm dilated and 70% effaced. That didn't surprise me, since I have felt nothing new all week. Oh- except huge and energy less! Anyway, the sonogram shows him to be in the 75 percentile. Not huge but certainly on the big side. That is good. We do have an induction date set, assuming he doesn't come sooner. I will be induced at 6 am on June 25th. That means that no matter what- we get to meet our newest gift from God in less than two weeks.
It was nice to see little Carty(as Cooper calls him) on screen again. We didn't get a great picture but here is what we got.

Cooper's Class

Today Cody and I took Cooper to a sibling class. (We did the same thing with Colton before Cooper was born so it was Cooper's turn. )He got to take a tour of the room that I will stay in and a peek at the baby nursery. They brought a newborn to the window so we could see it and he was so intrigued and smiled so big. Then he got to practice bathing, changing dressing, feeding and holding a baby. (a doll of course.) He also got a chance to draw a picture for Carter and he got a Big Brother certificate. He thought it was big fun. I cannot wait to see him with Carter. He is going to be a great Big Brother!

36 weeks and counting

Another baby update...today was my 36 week checkup. All is good. I am about 1.5cm dilated and 70% effaced. I have to admit, I am pretty darn miserable. I hate to be negative but this pregnancy has taken it out of me at this point. I am on an antibiotic (again) for a sinus infection and ear infections. I have been coughing so much that I have a crazy sharp pain in my side. (Just due to pulling muscles.) My orders this weekend are to sleep as much as possible to try to get over this junk. So my sweet hubby will have most of the duty. He is such a good Daddy and husband~ I am a lucky gal!! I am so thankful for him and both of our moms who have been at our every need. As hard as it is for me, it is nice to be taken care of. Thanks guys!!
Sorry to be negative. Carter is soooooo worth all of the discomfort. I cannot wait to see him!

Carter's bear

Today the boys made Carter a teddy bear at the Build a Bear Workshop. They loved it and did a great job! They picked a tan, very soft bear. When you push the button on the bear's hand it says in their voices "I love you Carter with my whole heart!" So cute! I love the process. They each made a wish for Carter as they put a heart inside the bear. I think they liked "washing" the bear the most. They dressed the bear in swim trunks and a shirt for summer since he will be a summer baby. It turned out adorable!
Of course, when we finished Carter's bear, they got to make one for themselves. Colton made a black bear dressed in a leather jacket and sunglasses? Cooper made a wolf dressed in jeans, a cowboy hat and boots. Oh and Omi(Cody's mom) thankfully went along with us so I wasn't alone. =) It was a great morning!
