What I'm Loving Wednesday

Good Wednesday Morning! Today is a short and simple but I am linking up with Jaime to share...
I am loving that I have joined a summer women's bible study on Wednesday nights. It is such a great group of ladies. Some I have known for a while and some I am just meeting. Last week was the first week and I loved every minute of it. The book we are using for the study is so good.

I love the author Jen Hatmaker. I saw her speak a few years ago at our church and she is awesome. I have another book by her called Makeover and it is great! I had forgotten that I met here and had gotten her autograph so I thought I would share it. =)

I am loving that  I will be getting several things every Wednesday night in the small group...I will be feeding my spirit, getting closer to the Lord and I will be getting sometime with some fabulous ladies.
Have a great day!!

Carter's birthday

**Caution--picture overload**

So my baby turned 2 on Saturday and here is the post about his big day! In our house, we start all birthdays with a pancake breakfast, a candle on top and the birthday song to go with it. Carter loved the candle part so we relit it and he blew it out about ten times. =)

His Pooh pool party was that afternoon. We had it at our neighborhood clubhouse and it was perfect. Just immediate family and some friends that are like family were there. We ate pizza, chips, watermelon and cake. Carter had the best time!  He was in and out of the pool and "talking" to everyone.

Here is the birthday boy before his guests arrived...
The five of us...
The cake and cupcakes...

Each table had one of his two year photos on it with a Pooh bear centerpiece. Here are a few of them...

Time to sing to the big birthday boy. He loved being sang to--he smiled , laughed, played shy and did a great job of blowing out those two candles.

Then he got to eat the Pooh Bear off of the cake. I sampled it too. It was made of fondant and it was good.
He loved making a mess with his cupcake...

Here is the birthday boy with his fabulous grandparents...

My Baby is 2!

My sweet Carter Wesley turns 2 years old today! I really cannot believe how fast time flies. My little man brings immeasurable joy to our family each and everyday. I am so in love with those sweet chubby cheeks, red hair, precious smile and infectious laugh. He really has the sweetest spirit! He makes me so happy!
Here is what our Carter has been up to lately...
  • He sings "You are my Sunshine"
  • He loves music and has to dance when he hears a good beat. He can "shake his bootie" like it's no body's business. =)
  • He tells the best stories. Even though he seems to speak a different language right now, I could listen to him talk all day long.
  • He does say lots of words we can understand. He is a little parrot repeating all that he hears.  Some of my latest favorites are...hold you(instead of hold me), thank you, welcome (your welcome), markers, K(okay)
  • He gives the best bear hugs and sweetest little kisses complete with a "mmmmuah"
  • He still loves his Pooh Bear and pacis --"Pooh and Pa"
  • He loves his big brothers and wants to do whatever they do. They both adore him!
  • He follows directions really well
  • He only wants to wear his brown Crocs. I have tried several other pairs and he will just stand still and fuss. Silly boy!
  • He likes things in their place...toys in the bucket and cabinet doors closed.
  • He does seem to have a small bit of a red head temper from time to time
  • He loves to be outside
  • When we say I love you he says "too"
  • When we say our prayer he puts his hands together, bows his head, closes his eyes(only peeks a little) rambles a prayer and then says "Men" when he's done. It is precious.
This little guy is such a gift from God and a blessing to our family!

Here is a quick look at how my baby has grown...

Five Question Friday

It has been a while so I am linking up for 5QF again. Here goes....

1. What is your current favorite tv show?
Well, most of my favorites(Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Army Wives) are on a break but I do also  love The Bachelorette. I know, I know- It is lame, frustrating and sometimes sad to watch. Even though the relationships rarely last, I still love it!

2. What's the worst haircut you ever got?
Well, if you remember back when "feathering" was in, then you can picture the not-so-hot haircut I had. In all fairness, I do have lots of very thick hair so I am sure it is easy to cut badly. Anyway, we tried feathering and needless to say I had lots of random, not feathery looking layers to grow out. Wish I could locate a picture to post but no such luck. =)

3. What was something that you did as a child that you thought you were so cool for doing? Hmmmm....I was always a cheerleader starting at age 7. I guess it made me feel cool because I loved it!

4. Do you have any GREAT frugal family fun tips?
No~but I need some and I would love to hear yours!!

5. Would you drive across country if you had the money to fly?
I do love road tripping and my boys are great travelers. I love the idea of downloading new music to my IPOD to listen to, getting new DVDS to watch, stocking up on snacks and hitting the open road.  Also, I think my hubby and I have some great conversations in the car. SO I think it all depends on how much time you have to be away. If we would have a short amount of time, I would want to fly(which I do love to do as well) so we could get the most of the time in our destination. But if time allows, I say let's road trip!

Certificates and Photo flashbacks

The boys had their last day of swimming lessons. They both learned a lot, had fun and did so well. They got their certificates today and as always I am a super proud Mama!!

Here they are with my bestie Lynn's three girls. Oh- if I haven't mentioned it before, we hope to have my three boys marry her three girls and life would be perfect!! ;) So much cuteness in this picture!

And here are Hannah(Lynn's oldest) and Colton. Someday we can add these pictures to a slideshow at their wedding. He, He! ;)

Here is the flashback...
This is from certificate day in Colton's first real swim lessons.
He was in class with another one of my besties' son-Brayden and Hannah too. My goodness, they were precious and look so little. Seriously, time flies too fast!(I have better pictures of these cuties but they are not on my computer and finding them right now would be a big job.)
