Omi's surprise party!

My mother-in-law turned 60 so we, along with Cody's sister and Cody's brother and his wife, hosted a surprise party for her at Adobe Verde. Omi's neighbors put together a plan for them to come to dinner there so it was easy to get her there without her suspecting anything. She was shocked! It was a great turnout with a Mexican buffet and yummy cake. We chose the restaurant because it has a great outdoor covered area to eat at and there is a play set right off of that. The only problem was that it poured down rain. Oh well, everyone still had fun honoring a woman we all love!

Awards

The school year is coming to an end and I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. Today was Colton's 1st grade awards ceremony. It was pretty cute. Each kid got an award based on characteristics they show. Colton got the award for being  "Most Artistic". He was thrilled with that and so were we. He still loves to draw and is a very creative thinker. So proud of our little artist and can't believe he is going to be a second grader!

Amen!

Well, some of you may know that Cody is on "vacation" this week. Actually, he is hunting with 5 of his good friends. He headed to British Columbia, Canada to hunt bears. Yes- I said bears. Crazy I know but men and their hobbies. =)  He left early last Sunday and will be back late this Sunday. He works very hard and deserves the getaway and he is loving every minute of it! We are sure missing him around here but I am managing to hold down the fort.
So- here is a funny story I have to share. As we were praying for Cody the other night Cooper had this to say:
"God, please help Daddy not to miss the bear when he shoots and help the bear not to eat Daddy."
To which I said, "AMEN!!"

I know these pictures have been on here before but I figured they were appropriate since Cody is bear hunting.

Carter's Baby dedication

Okay, so I am late on posting this but it was still an amazing day. Our sweet Carter was dedicated at church on Mother's day. What an amazing way to start the day! Carter did so good and looked adorable(if I do say so myself). Our big boys were on stage with us and they behaved well up there. I was so proud of my little family. We are so blessed and had quite a number of supporters in the crowd. There is nothing quite like looking up to see your family and friends smiling back at you at such a special time. After church our family came to our house for a yummy brunch and cake to celebrate a wonderful day.
May God always watch over and guide our PRECIOUS Carter Wesley! We love him so!!

P.S. Thank you Misti for being there so early to snap great action shots. I appreciate it sooo much!!!

Being a Mom

The one thing I always knew I wanted to be was a mom. I love the fact that God trusted me with these three precious boys. I love to hear them say "Mama" (especially Carter right now because it is new and so sweet.) I love that they are part of Cody and I and I can see that in their appearance. I love that I get to be at home with them and everywhere they want me to be. I love that I can help a boo-boo with a kiss and a make them giggle with a bear hug. I love that they tell me "I love you" randomly all day long. I love that they are happy and healthy kids who I laugh with a lot. I love that they like to dance with me in the kitchen while I cook. I love that they need me but also that they want me around. I love that they think I am so smart (I know that will not always be the case) and ask me lots of questions. I love snuggling up in their beds and reading to them at night. I love that when I sit on the couch, they all come running or crawling to sit with me.  I love teaching them everything I can. I could go on and on but it comes down to the fact that I just love being a mom!!!! Although it is not always easy, it is the BEST job I could ever have!
I am soooooo lucky to be these cute boys' Mama and watch them grow and help shape them into Godly men.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

P.S. I have the best Mama in the world. She truly is my best friend.  My mother in law is also a great friend to me and I am lucky to have her.

Beach Bums

We spent the weekend at the coast and had a great time. We put a trailer down there for most of the summer so hopefully we will be there a lot. My parents have a trailer there too so we got to have lots of fun with them.
Colton and Cooper love the beach. They would spend all day in the ocean if we let them. It looks like I have another beach lover on my hands...Carter. He had his first trip to the beach and loved crawling around in the sand. I couldn't get a great shot of him looking at the camera because he was too interested in the world around him. He also loved the water but he did get a little bit scared when it splashed up on him and a little bit got in his eyes(who could blame him there). But he is definitely like his big brothers. Here are some pictures of my super cute Beach Bums. =)
