1 year check up

Carter had his one year check up on Tuesday and it went great. He did have to get three shots but he only cried for a minute. Such a trooper! He was walking all over the office and making Dr. Boecker laugh with the cute things he does. Everything looked good and we are soooo lucky to have such a healthy, happy little guy.
Here are his stats:
Weight: 25.5 lbs (82%)
Height: 32 inches (96 %)
Head: 19.25 (97 %)
Here are a few more pictures of him on his birthday and one of him the first time he rode in his car seat facing forward. He was so funny. The look on his face was like he was in a new car. He had check it out for a minute to make sure where he was. =) I love this baby sooooooo!

Carter's birthday pictures

On Carter's actual birthday, the boys and I (since it was Friday, Cody was at work) had the traditional birthday pancake breakfast. Carter was so intrigued by the candle and went right for it. Colton helped keep him from burning his finger..such a good big brother. We had lunch at Mr. Gatti's with Omi and Opi and Carter played around in the game area. Then my parents came over for a steak dinner and Carter had his first birthday cake. This was his first taste of icing. He loved it and eventually made a huge mess of the cake. He was so fun to wtach. He opened his present from the boys(gumball machine ball toy), Mammy and Papa(stool with his name and money for his savings) and then from Cody and I(Happy Tunes Coupe Car).  He loved it all but especially his car. He loves climbing in and out of it and he does it really well. When you push the horn it plays music and he dances and smiles. He already has good rhythm. =)

Then on Sunday we had a party at the neighborhood pool. It was lots of fun...pizza, swimming, close family and friends. Carter looooves being sang to and just beamed when the whole group of us sang to him. He claps his hands and smiles a big cheesy grin. SOOOOOO cute!! It was so fun to celebrate our baby boy! Here are some snapshots of our birthday boy enjoying it all. Hold on-- there's a lot.

Happy 1st birthday Carter!!

Wow!! This year has flown by. I can NOT believe my baby is one year old already! It has been such a fun year. I have truly enjoyed every minute. Carter Wesley has been the perfect addition to our family. He is the sweetest most loveable little guy. When I look at him I can't help but smile. He has brought us so much joy each day. So what is he up to these days? Well, he is walking really well now..becoming very sturdy and getting into everything. He puts most anything to his ear and babbles like he is having a great phone conversation. My Carter loves music and dances whenever he hears a good beat. You will know what he wants when he grunts loudly to let you know.(this makes his brothers crack up) When he sees a drink or food he wants he spits out his paci and smacks his lips persistantly. He gives some wonderfully, sloppy kisses. His Pooh bear is his loved companion...he snuggles it, sleeps with it and even carries it in his mouth when he crawls. My big baby loves to eat and tries most anything. He adores his big brothers and they do anything to make him laugh. My sweet red-head does have a little temper that shows once in a while when he doesn't get his way. Thankfully, he is still quite cuddly at times. I love the moments when he is just waking up or ready for bed. He wraps his chubby arms around my neck and lays his head on my shoulder. I could sit there with him for hours.

I know I have said this many times before but this baby is so good. My heart overflows with love for him. I thank God each day for my Carter Wesley.

Happy 1st Birthday to my little man!!

Father's day!

My boys sure love their Daddy! I sure love their Daddy too! I am so thankful that Cody is the father of my kiddos. He is such a hands-on and attentive Dad. I love that he will get down and roughhouse with the boys, throw the ball around in the backyard, hunt, fish, swim and ride bikes with them. Yet he is also always giving them a hug or kiss, telling them he loves them or praying with them. What a great example he is setting for my boys as they grow into young men and someday husbands and fathers!! I couldn't as for a better partner in parenting. Happy Father's Day Cody!!

P.S. I am so thankful that I have such an amazing Daddy. He is always there for us and is a wonderful Papa. We all love him so much. Cody's Dad is an amazing man and is such a wonderful Opi to my boys. We all love him so much too. Our family is so blessed to have so many awesome men as examples for my boys!!!!

Swim Lessons

We just finished another year of swim lessons. Both of the boys learned so much and had a great time.  I love that we now have all summer to build on what they have learned. My boys love the water and are becoming little fish. =) I am very proud of them!  Here are a few pictures:

This hair!!

Oh how I love my baby's hair! Although it is a little long and can be crazy at times(especially in the humidity at the coast), I LOVE it! I love the color...such a sweet shade of red. And I love the little ringlets that are growing in the back. I can't get over how cute it is. He is due for a haircut but we are putting it off. Not only am I afraid the curls will be gone forever but mostly I am afraid that he will look like a big boy once it is cut. So for now he is sporting this shaggy, PRECIOUS hairstyle.

Pictures with Parrots

Last weekend at the coast we stopped at the gift shop to get yet another shark tooth necklace. (The last ones we got were broken within a day). Anyway, outside the souvenir shop was a bird man...a man who trained parrots. Colton has been so into parrots lately so this was pretty exciting. We got some good pictures with the pretty birds and then wandered in for our shark tooth necklaces. Here are the cute photos:
